Vancouver's festival scene just got a whole lot friendlier for vegans! The first Vancouver Vegan Festival will be starting up this summer and it's your chance to pig out on delicious food, treats and goodies while being kind to the animals.
This all-ages festival is a celebration of both vegan food and culture and it's totally free to attend. It's a community-minded event that will feature yoga, inspiring talks, DJ tunes and over 150 vendors of the finest in vegan food and apparel!
Some of the guest speakers that will be attending include local animal rights activists and vegan chefs and makers. If you are already a vegan or you're veg-curious, then you'll be able to learn a lot about the practice and culture of veganism at this incredible event.
Although there have been vegan events in Vancouver in the past this is the first ever Vancouver Vegan Festival of its size in the city! The organizers of this event also do the super popular Vegan Night Markets which are basically all out parties of the best vegan eats. It's a great way to see the variety of vegan food that you can get and it goes to show that you don't have to give up anything when you go vegan.
The Vancouver Vegan Festival is happening on Saturday, July 27 at Creekside Park in Vancouver right next to Science World on the seawall. It's totally free to attend but the incredible eats and treats here are going to make you want to break open the piggy bank! Check out their website for more details as the festival approaches.
Can’t wait for the Vegan Vancouver Festival? Check out their next event at the York Theatre on Thursday, May 9 for a special screening of the Ottawa International Vegan Film Festival. There will be local food makers, snacks, a bar and special guests!
