The Longest Suspension Bridge In Canada Is Now Open In Ontario
Ready for a thrill?
The spring and summer months are made for adventures. After we've been cooped up indoors because of the snow and ice all winter long, we're dying to get outside and experience something great. If you're afraid of heights you might as well stop reading now, but if you're not then this adventure is perfect for you!
Ontario is home to Canada's longest suspension footbridge and it will probably be the coolest day trip you take all summer! The Eagle Canyon Adventures suspension bridge officially opened for the season on May 1st and will be open all summer until October 15th.
Eagle Canyon Adventures is located in Ontario's Lake Superior Circle in Dorion, Ontario. It's about a 14-hour drive from Toronto and just under 15 hours from Ottawa. It's definitely not too close to the major cities but you can easily make this a weekend trip this summer by renting out one of the numerous cute cottages in the area.
The Eagle Canyon suspension bridge is absolutely massive! It hangs 152 feet above the canyon floor and spans 300 feet across making it the longest footbridge in all of Canada. Crossing this bridge will give you a thrill whether you're scared of height or not!
The suspension bridge is open 7 days a week from 10 am to 6 pm every day. There is an entrance fee to the suspension bridge and the surrounding trails and vistas which is $20 each adult.
If you want to experience more of the area you can hike through the nearby trails, take in the beauty of the canyon from above, enjoy a picnic in the forest, and even stop by the smaller suspension bridge which is the same length across but sits 125 feet in the air.
If you're looking for a real thrill, they also have a zip line here which is also Canada's largest zip line offering an insane experience to get to the bottom of the canyon!
