We all remember seesaws from elementary school, just you and your BFF rocking back and forth without a care in the world. But, trust us, this is definitely not the playground equipment we all remember from childhood! Impulse Ottawa is a giant seesaw installation with lights and musical waves that are activated when you sit on them and it's finally making its debut in the capital this month.
The epic playground is a family-friendly space that will be in Ottawa until Oct. 6. Oh, and did we mention it's totally free? So if you're looking for free things to do in Ottawa this fall or for a cheap date night with your loved one, be sure to hit up Impulse Ottawa for a magical taste of nostalgia.
Lights are activated when you sit on the seesaw, and as you begin to totter back and forth, musical tones will play from the built-in speakers, creating a beautiful composition. You can change the intensity of sound simply by increasing your motion on the seesaw.
The goal, according to the Spark Street website, is to get the city together to collectively flex their creative minds (and legs).
You'll be able to find the seesaws on Sparks Street between Kent and Lyon.
It will remain in Ottawa from Sept. 14 through to Oct. 6 and is open daily from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m.
So, bring your S/O, a friend, or family and have a simply magical time!
When: Saturday, Sept. 14 to Sunday, Oct. 6
Address: Sparks Street at Kent and Lyon
Why You Need To Go: You can light up the streets of Ottawa and create a magical wave of sounds with your BFFs. Nostalgic fun combined with perfect Instagram opportunities? Sounds like a winner!
