Are you ready to dive into some cheesy goodness? If you've ever dreamed of eating non-stop poutine, your dreams are about to come true in the wildest way! The first-ever Ontario poutine crawl is coming to a couple more cities before the end of October and will come within a couple of hours of Ottawa at the end of this month!
This event is Ontario's first travelling poutine festival! Putting an emphasis on cheesy Canadian cuisine, teams of chip truck owners unite from all over the province, offering their own take on this classic dish.
Kingston is first up on the list from Sept. 26 to 29, then it rolls into Brampton on Oct. 3 to 6. It will make its last stop near the USA border in Windsor from Oct. 10 to 13.
So, if you can make it to any of these events, this is your last chance until the year ends!
If the poutine crawl interests you, all you have to do is sign up online and it is free to take part. When you sign up, you get exclusive offers at participating restaurants, and also have the chance to be entered into a draw to win free food, swag, or even participate as a judge at their mobile events.
To attend this event, you don't have to partake in this food crawl. You can still enjoy all the poutine you want and get some dessert on the side too. Make sure to bring your lactose pills and your stretchiest clothes.
Vendors for the Kingston event includes The Upper Deck, BBQ Babes, Fat Les's Chip Stand, Smokin' R&R's, Herberts Fries, Big D's Dog House & Emporium, and Smokin' Carnivores.
If desserts peak your interest, Mrs. Mini Donuts, Mr. Swirl, and Miss Ellie’s Lemonade will also be there to serve you!
There will also be vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available if you want to get your hands on delicious poutine.
These events started last year and got popular oh-so quickly! According to Poutine Feast, so many people came to their event in Kingston last year that many trucks came really close to running out of food and actually needed to call in reinforcements!
Everyone is encouraged to bring their own reusable forks and/or straws to this event in order to eliminate the amount of waste produced.
