It is hard to believe, but in just a few weeks it will be summer. Summer is always an outstanding time in Ottawa as there are so many events and festivals happening. One event you don't want to miss is the sound and light show on Parliament Hill!
Every year the sound and lights show on Parliament Hill is extremely popular with locals and tourists alike. Since 2015, there have been more than 1 million spectators that have come to see the show.
The mesmerizing event projects a light show on the Parliament Buildings. Essentially every night in the summer the Parliament Buildings will turn into a giant movie screen that is 470 feet long and 30 stories high!
This year's edition of the bilingual show is called Northern Lights and will highlight key people, moments and achievements from Canadian history. Northern Lights is entirely free to watch, so invite your friend to join you this summer. The show will take place daily with the show time at 10:00 pm in July, at 9:30 pm in August, and at 9:00 pm in September.
As the event takes place outdoors, it is best to bring a blanket to sit on and a warm sweater as it can get chilly at night. In the case of poor weather, such as thunderstorms the show will be cancelled. So make sure check Capital Experience's Twitter account @capital_exp for updates regarding the show.
