You Can Actually Take Your Doggo To A Hockey Game In Mississauga Next Month
Pucks n' pups!
As Canadians, loving hockey is basically part of our DNA. So it only makes sense that our fur babies would love the game too. Unfortunately, most hockey arenas are not pet-friendly, so watching the game IRL with your doggo is out of the question. But that’s all changing this February. For one night only, you and your pup can take in a game together as part of the annual Mississauga Steelheads Pucks N’ Paws event.
Yeah, you heard us right.
You can enjoy the most Canadian doggy date night ever on Sunday, February 2 and take in some great Ontario Hockey League puck at the same time.
Does it even get any cuter than this? Oh, wait. Yes it does.
Global News' weather dog, Storm, will kick off the third iteration of this event on Sunday afternoon with a ceremonial puck drop that’s sure to steal your heart.
The event will also feature fun activities such as a doggy photo booth, a face painting booth, balloon artists, groomers and a variety of treats, awards, and giveaways.
To attend the game with your canine companion, be sure to purchase a Pucks N’ Paws ticket in sections 11 through 16.
It sounds like this doggy date is going to be a real howling good time.
As we know, dogs and hockey go hand-in-hand. Don't believe us? Just look at these adorable. For those of an Ottawa persuasion,
And if you think you’ve got the Auston Matthews of dogs on your hands, listen up.
The Steelheads will be hosting a social media contest prior to the February 2 event. To enter, all you need to do is submit a video of your dog performing their best trick.
The winning pup will receive complimentary tickets to the event (well, their owners will). They'll also get the chance to show off their skills on the ice during the second intermission.
This year’s event is in support of the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program. This means $5 from every ticket purchased in sections 11-16 will go back to the program.
Incidentally, SJA will beevery day this week until Thursday, January 23.
Now, there may be plenty ofin the GTA, but this one feels extra special.
Considering this is the only night all season where dogs will be allowed in the OHL team's arena, you might as well take advantage of it.
