Attention movie lovers! Grab your blankets and head to Fort York National Historic site next month to watch your favourite films under the stars. The Toronto Outdoor Picture Show is running from August 21 to 30 and screenings will be free.

Spend your summer nights soaking in your favourite classics at this Toronto outdoor movie theatre.

The movie selections are ten big-screen pictures and 10 short film selections featuring some of "the most memorable features from TOPSโ€™ first decade of programming," according to a news release.

The shorter features will be an all-Canadian selection of films, while the longer viewings will feature some notable movies like Thelma & Louise, Twister, and The Lunchbox.

There will be a capacity of 100 people on the grounds, and you can grab your free advance tickets starting August 3 at 12 p.m.

Each evening, there will be a big screen and small screen production shown.

Each of the 10 nights will include 100 free ticket giveaways, so don't miss the chance to sign up through their website.

Residents of the area can even see the films from their balconies and will be able to access an audiovisual stream from the rear window apartments, the news release says.

Food and non-alcoholic drink service will begin at 6:30 p.m., and movies start at sundown, which is approximately 8:30 p.m.

You can also bring a personal picnic, but no outside alcohol.

The event will be socially distanced on the 43-acre green historic space in Fort York.

It's BYOBlanket and chairs so you can get comfy while watching the movie.

There are a variety of other outdoor venues popping up this summer.

You can also check out Ontario Place, where they are hosting multiple outdoor festivals.
