The holiday season has wrapped up, and the post-New Year's doldrums have begun to set in, but they don't have to. There are plenty of events planned across Toronto to check out and break yourself out of the funk of winter. And, if you're looking for a cozy and chilled-out vibe, Toronto Tea Festival is a perfect opportunity to "sip" back, relax, and immerse yourself in everything tea-related.

The festival takes place Saturday, Feb. 1 and Sunday, Feb. 2 at the Toronto Reference Library. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

So, what can you expect from the event?

According to organizers, it will enable you to take a deep dive into the wide world of tea, "from the traditional to the trendy."

While go-to favourites such as green, chai, and orange pekoe will be available for sipping, there will hundreds and hundreds of unique flavours for purchase as well.

The almost 50 vendors on hand will have plenty of freshly brewed samples. Experts from the industry will also share inside tips on how flavours can change based on preparation styles, processing techniques, and place of origin.

So, if you want to learn how to make some killer tea, make sure to take notes.

Tickets are $13 each for the Saturday or Sunday, or $20 for a two-day pass. Each ticket includes entry, a swag bag containing a program, a glass tasting cup, and the 2020 Toronto Tea Festival calendar.

There will also be plenty of teas, teaware, and related products on sale at the event, making it a perfect place to get some early Valentine's gifts for the tea lover in your life.

Looking for an even closer dive into tea culture? The festival boasts a VIP event on Friday, Jan. 31 called The Rare Tea Experience with Kevin Gascoyne.

The evening with Gascoyne, a tea taster and journalist, is described as a "meditative, deep-focusing tasting" of some the rarest teas from around the world. Spaces for this VIP event are limited to only 40 guests, and tickets are $120.

Tea and February in Toronto seem to go together, as Casa Loma is also hosting its classy high tea (featuring a 20-foot cake tower!) beginning the same weekend as the tea festival.

So if tea is your thing, you'll have your hands full, literally and figuratively, the first weekend of next month.

It'll suit you down to a tee!
