Toronto is home to some pretty exciting experiences, and the future looks just as thrilling. A brand new exhibit will be opening in the city next year, featuring a pop-culture icon. Get ready to embark on a colourful, psychedelic journey as you explore the work of a world-renowned artist. Toronto's Andy Warhol Exhibition is opening at the AGO next year, and we're already counting down the days.

The AGO is about to get even more artsy with the arrival of a huge Andy Warhol exhibit.

The showcase is set to open in March 2021 and will feature the artist's iconic works as well as a look into his life.

If the name doesn't ring a bell, you'll likely recognize some of Warhol's most popular pieces, such as Campbell's Soup Cans, and Shot Marilyns.

A leading figure in the Pop Art movement, Warhol was born in Pittsburg, PA in 1928.

His working-class, immigrant background greatly influenced his writing and art, where he depicted themes of consumer culture, Catholicism, and counter-culture activities.

The exhibition allows visitors to step into four decades of Warhol's career.

You can view his early drawings, famous depictions of Marilyn Monroe, experimental films, the floating Silver Clouds, and more.

"...While his Pop works of the 1960s are the most famous, Warhol’s engagement with issues of identity, belief and desire in the 50s, 70s and 80s is as relevant and contemporary now as it was in the late twentieth century,” said Kenneth Brummel, Associate Curator of Modern Art.

News of the exhibition comes in the wake of several other notable experiences happening around the country.

The Dr. Seuss Experience had its world premiere in Toronto back in October and will run until March 2020.

The ROM also recently announced an exciting new installation that will be opening this year.

The Winne-The-Pooh exhibit will launch on March 7, 2020, and will allow you to step inside the nostalgic childhood storybooks.

Montreal was also able to immerse themselves in Imagine Van Gogh, which was first presented in Europe.

The Andy Warhol Exhibition is free to everyone aged 25 and under. Admission is included in the Annual Pass ($35) as well as the adult day pass ($25).

More information on the instalment will be released on later dates, so keep an eye out!
