Toronto's Bentway skating trail is officially opening next month and it looks as enchanting as ever.
The Bentway just announced in a press release that its rink will be launching on December 20, 2019. We can soon enjoy the glassy skating paradise in the heart of the city.
The Bentway boasts 220m of stunning icy trail. The path winds its way beneath the Gardiner, forming a giant figure eight that you can glide around. Last year, more than fifty-thousand visitors came to enjoy the frosty splendour the rink had to offer.
A pop-up winter village will be offering steamy hot chocolate and boozy drinks to keep you warm all day long. There will also be warming stations so you can live out your figure skating dreams without freezing.
If you can't skate, that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the fun. The Bentway has reoccurring free skating lessons for both adults and children. There is also a skate rental booth available daily.
You can take part in a Polar Bear Skate on December 29, where brave Torontonians are invited to skate in their bathing suits. You'll receive a free hot chocolate to help you de-thaw if you pre-register.
The rink will be open until February 17, 2020, which gives you lots of time to glide around this icy figure eight. It will be open from 12 p.m. - 9 p.m. seven days a week until January 5, 2020. After this date, the weekday hours will be 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
