This weekend, it's time to set aside the pumpkin spice lattes in exchange for a goblet and trade our knitted sweaters for blouses and aprons! While it may only be September, Oktoberfest is upon us, and you can indulge in all sorts of traditional fun at this German festival. This year, why not take things a step further and bring the party to the ocean? Enjoy your beer underwater at Toronto's Ripley's Aquarium Octo-berfest party on September 27, where you can ring in the holiday with the fish.
Ripley's is hosting an aquarium-wide, beer-filled extravaganza, and we can't think of a better way to celebrate Oktoberfest than with some friendly sea creatures. Put on your trousers, skirts, and stockings and experience the aquarium in a whole new way.
Similar to their past Octo-berfests, Ripley's will be offering a wide range of local craft beer for you to purchase as you journey through the underwater tunnels and pass massive fish tanks. A few favourites include Steam Whistle, Cowbell, and Muskoka Brewery. Enjoy live music and traditional German attire at this unique, boozy event.
You can't leave without indulging in some mouthwatering classic Oktoberfest food, and Ripley's is serving up some delicious options! Traditional Oktoberfest sausage is offered on a warm pretzel bun with several mustard options. Bite into some chicken schnitzel and loaded potato pierogies topped with a dollop of sour cream.
Dessert is also a must, as you can buy apple cinnamon strudels and salted sweet caramel pretzels!
The event is for guests of 19 years or older, and will run from 8 p.m.-12 a.m. All food and drink comes at an extra cost.
The aquarium will also be hosting a chilling Dark Waters Halloween party next month, which will be serving up some more boozy drinks and yummy snacks!
