If you're someone who peruses thrift stores, wakes up early to go to garage sales, and loves when your friends do a closet cleanout, then you're going to like this upcoming Toronto event. We all have stuff hanging around in storage, bins, and closets that we just don't use anymore. Toronto's Second Hand Sunday is taking place during the last weekend of September.

The community reuse event was started in order to reduce our ecological footprint and share recyclable goods with our communities. The event takes place on the last Sunday of every April and September. It's a great way to get rid of unwanted things and find some hidden treasures. Gather your unused items and get ready for this Sunday, September 29.

In order to participate, all you need to do is place your unwanted goods next to the sidewalk by 9 a.m. on the day of the event. Take a stroll around the neighbourhood to see what other cool and unique items people are offering! At the end of the day, be sure to take any of your leftover things back inside by 5 p.m.

"Sunday, September 29th is your chance to share any unwanted, reusable items. Simply leave them on your property next to the sidewalk or curb for your neighbours to take for free," reads the event description.

If you're interested in starting the trend in your neighbourhood, you can reach out to Second Hand Sunday here and let them know your name, email, and neighbourhood. The organization has tons of resources, from Facebook groups to posters that will help spread the word to your area.

No hazardous or illegal, or non-reusable items are to be offered during the event. Use the hashtag #secondhandsundayTO to spread the word about this recycling event and to see what cool finds people around the city are offering. Happy thrifting!
