Deep caves are already eerie and intriguing, but throw in some epic light works, music, and fire, and you’ve got one heck of an underground rave! At DeSoto Caverns in Alabama, light and music shows like these are held seasonally, dazzling crowds with brilliant light displays, pumping music, and weaving together enchanting stories. Backdropped by rocky prehistoric caverns, this is a party you’ve probably never seen before.

DeSoto Caverns has lived many lives during its time, housing ancient Native American tribes, being mined by Confederate soldiers, and even playing host to moonshine brewing during the prohibition era.

Today, it’s a great place for hikers, nature-lovers, and partiers alike.

Besides being a gorgeous place for camping, hiking, and exploring the ancient depths of the caves, there are both seasonal and daily light shows that you can enjoy.

Every ‘Timeless Tour’ includes a viewing of the Caverns Light Show, which features state-of-the-art lasers, sound, water, and lights displays.

Halloween, of course, is one of the best times to check out the caverns. The Tomb of the Risen Dead event features out-of-this-world shows within a subterranean world that will hype you up with fire dancing, light works, fountains, and spooky tunes to groove to.

The Christmas Laser Show, Easter Sound and Light Show, and the February Legends of Light Show are all fantastic displays worth checking out too — each one offering something different.

DeSoto Caverns is recorded as America’s first cave, and it’s still growing!

The frequent dripping of water from above continues to form stalactites and stalagmites that create an ethereal rocky world. If you get dripped on, staff like to call it “cave kisses.”

There are plenty of other fun things to check out above ground in the DeSoto Caverns park, including mazes, gem and crystal panning, archery, and more.

Add exploration, learning, and partying it up to your bucket list at DeSoto Caverns!
