If enjoying the great outdoors in new and unique ways tickles your fancy, this adventure is sure to catch your attention. A paddleboarding excursion in Arizona lets you ride down the Colorado River for 16 miles along gorgeous shimmering waters. The best part is that there's no permit needed to explore this part of the river so you can go anytime you want.

You can paddleboard down the Colorado River in Arizona on a 16-mile stretch of sparkling water.

The trip doesn't require a permit, as it takes you from Glen Canyon Dam to Lees Ferry.

You'll still get the same awesome experience you would exploring the waters inside the Grand Canyon, thanks to the towering rock walls that rise up to 1,000 feet tall.

The ride is mostly self-guided, but you can rent your equipment from Lake Powell Paddleboards and Kayaks in Page, Arizona.

Boards cost $45 per day, and the journey can last up to two days. The company also offers tents and camping gear upon request, though supplies are limited.

You'll begin your trip at Lee's Ferry after picking up your equipment, where the company will help connect you with a backhaul company.

They will take you down to Kayak Beach, which is the closest drop-off point near the dam.

The fee for the haul starts at $47 for you and your board.

From there, you can paddle down the stretch of the river until you reach several campgrounds to the right of the water. There are no fees to camp there, either, but it is first come first serve.

The second day will take you the rest of the way down to Lees Ferry, where you can camp again or head to town. Keep in mind the campsites here charge.

You'll want to bring along hiking shoes, warm clothes, and a sleeping bag pad.

This truly epic adventure will give you a taste of the great outdoors and will be like nothing you've experienced before.
