Adopting a dog can be a big commitment, but there are other ways you can help these animals in need. The Lost Our Home Arizona shelter is offering the opportunity to take some of their shelter dogs on a group hike to experience the outdoors and hopefully to help get some of these cuties adopted too.

Lost Our Home is an animal shelter located in Tempe that specializes in taking in dogs and cats who have been abandoned due to various reasons.

You can take some of these dogs for a hike in Papago Park and maybe even take one home with you if you fall in love. (Which, let's be honest, isn't hard to do.)

You'll start by meeting at the shelter for a quick tour and the chance to say hello to the doggos. After meeting some of the friendly faces, you'll get to pick your favorite to take with you on the hike.

The hike will take you to the famous Hole-In-The-Rock, Hunt's Tomb, and the entire trip will last around two hours.

The experience costs $40 and all fees go toward the care of the animals at the facility. You'll also receive a snack and water bottle for your hike.

The group is limited to six at a time and you'll be walking dogs that are comfortable around people and ready to find a forever home. Two of the more popular dogs are Nina and Bluebell, who love going on these hikes.

The hike is an all-around paws-itive experience for both people and dogs alike.

Everyone gets some fresh air, you get to make a dog's day, and the pupper gets to spend some time outdoors.

Once you're done soaking up the sun with your new furry friend, you'll have the option to discuss adoption with a member of the shelter staff.

Since the shelter focuses on rescuing animals within Arizona they do not adopt to out-of-state visitors as the shelter would not be able to retrieve the pet if the family moved, no longer could care for it, etc.

It's the paw-fect way to give back and have some fun, even if you don't end up with a new fur-ever friend.
