Why is it that friendly and fun competition is so hard to come by in adulthood? Inflatable obstacle courses, three-legged races, and egg tosses are still enjoyable after the age of nine. This obstacle course in Phoenix is a great way to get outside and feel like a kid again.

This Saturday, February 15 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. you and your friends can do just that. Held at Margaret T. Hance Park, this adult's only event is the second annual Phoenix Field Day.

It will have everything you loved about recess in elementary school, plus lots of booze and food.

You can register with your squad or as a solo player to be added to a team. Registration as an individual is $50 while registering as a team is $45 a person.

The final day for you to sign up is Wednesday, February 12, so if this sounds up your alley, now's the chance.

If sports and friendly competition isn't your forte, you can attend as a spectator for $17 instead. It will give you access to the concert after the event plus the giveaways! The last day to enter as a spectator is Friday, February 14.

Some of the activities you'll be competing in include inflatable obstacle courses, tug-of-war, a watermelon eating contest, giant beer pong, and flip cup. Winners take home prizes, so be sure to bring your A-game.

The fun doesn't end at 5:00 p.m., there's a concert after that will keep the good vibes going. After a long day of competing, everyone can hang out and relish in a victory (or loss, no judgment here).

Last year teams coordinated outfits but it's not necessary. Fun costumes are encouraged though!

Part of the fun is competing against people wearing something crazy, like matching shirts with wizard dogs that say "Merlin's Minions."

It's recommended to wear athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes to the event, you'll probably work up a sweat bouncing on a ball or frantically running with a balanced egg. Who knows? Anything could happen.

We personally are loving the "sports plus alcohol" trend that's been spreading throughout the Valley.

The event is put on by PHX Fray, a company that organizes leagues, tournaments, and other social events to keep people active and connected. This field day is no exception, it's one of their largest events.
