This Arizona Hike Takes You To A Summit With The Best Red Rock Views
There are views on every part of the trail.
"Top of the mountain to ya." Yes, not morning, we mean mountain, as in, you can start your day with this mountain hike in Arizona. You'll get some of the best views around.
Surrounded by Sedona's charming red rock mountains, the Bear Mountain Trail will offer you unreal views from the top.
The trail is about 5-miles roundtrip and is a challenging one with a 2,100-foot elevation. You'll have to hike up a steep and mostly unshaded trail. But, it'll take you on a journey of a lifetime with a sweet reward at the end.
You'll also need to purchase a $5 Red Rock Pass. They are available at the trailhead in the parking lot.
Since there is a false summit, it's possible to think that you've made it to the top. However, the trail is very well marked and you'll know when you get to top when you see a marker that reads "End."
If you find that the incline is too much, you can stop at the false peak. It's at about 1,350 feet into the hike. You'll still get amazing red rock mountain views from here.
With any desert hike, we recommend packing plenty of water, sunscreen, and a hat. There is no water along the trail and shaded areas are very sparse.
Once you reach the top, pat yourself on the back and take a much-needed break. You can pack a little lunch and take in all the views.
Whether you're an avid hiker or an adventurer looking for challenging journeys, this hike is perfect for both types of people.
