The Grand Canyon State is known to have some of the most spectacular sunsets around. But, what really comes to mind are the incredible star-filled nights. You'll even feel like you can see every star in the sky at this nature park in Arizona.

In northern Arizona, there's Buffalo Park in Flagstaff. It features a huge open space atop an ancient lava flow, known as McMillian Mesa. It's location and expansive wide plain make it the perfect spot to stargaze.

It's open 24-hours a day and is free to visit. Before you set up a spot to stargaze, you can explore the park. It has a picnic area for you to relax at or you can opt to walk around the 2-mile trail. It's relatively easy since most of the trail is flat.

As you're walking, you'll get amazing views of the surrounding mountains. It's encouraged to bring your pet along because there's ample space for them to run and play with you.

If you want to exercise there are many workout stations around. Since many of them have workout bars, you can challenge your friends to a pull-up competition.

As it gets closer to sunset, you can find a spot in the open field, lay out a blanket, and relax. Once the sun has set, the sky will glow from the dazzling stars.

The wide-open fields will give you an incredible unobstructed view to stargaze. Whether you're an avid stargazer, nighttime photographer, or lover of the outdoors, this huge 215-acre park has something for everyone.

Since you'll be in the Flagstaff area, you can also check out this off-the-grid cabin. It has big clear windows that make stargazing from the couch a must.
