If you thought South Florida is all about Hispanic culture then you haven't been to this magical place. The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is having a cultural sushi and stroll event next month with amazing live music.
This is one of the most relaxing summer walks you can enjoy this season. During the summertime, Morikami allows guests to enjoy the gardens during the evening while enjoying good food and Japanese culture.
The Sushi and Stroll event takes place on select Fridays during summer and the next one will be on July 12th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the sunset while strolling around the garden and eating sushi. But we recommend you get early as this event gets packed. There will be premium Japanese sake, cold beer, delicious Pan-Asian cuisine, and even mochi ice cream.
The museum features unique and traditional Japanese culture and history of the first Japanese community in South Florida.
Also, if you want a great date night filled with culture, purchase tickets for an original Taiko drumming performance. Tickets will be sold at the museum and it only costs $3 per person.
This performance is one-of-a-kind with drumming and beats that will get you excited. All performances are sold on a first come, first served basis. The Taiko drumming is scheduled for 6:30 pm, 7:15 pm and 8:00 pm - so arriving early is suggested.
The venue also features six distinct Japanese inspired gardens that are perfect for meditation. Many photographers and locals visit this place for photo shoots and also for proposals.
Entrance to the venue is $7 per person.
