We have seen Aquaman and The Little Mermaid, and we can't help to feel a little bit jealous about their strong bond with sea creatures. You too can feel the connection and touch a shark without getting bit; the St. Augustine Aquarium offers a shark meet and greet where you can finally get up close with nurse sharks.
If you love Shark Week then this experience will be magical. The aquarium provides its guest with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to feed the sharks and check out their guitarfish, yellow and southern rays, and more. Even though this aquarium is small in size, the staff will make you feel like in the Mediterranean the moment you walk in.
The intimate environment offers a great outdoor experience for those looking to re-connect with nature. The marine biologists are friendly and passionate about these sharks, and you will learn a lot about these creatures.
In addition, the aquarium exhibit offers opportunities to touch starfishes and lightning whelk, feed stingrays, and snorkel with a bunch of Florida reef fish such as angelfish and blue lined grunts.
The aquarium has been in business for a few years but is growing and adding more activities every season. The best part of this small aquarium is that is affordable and you don't have to pay the high fees from other places.
Admission to the aquarium costs only $10 and if you want the snorkel experience it costs $39 per person. The venue also offers a zip line canopy tour but due to some repairs, the adventure is currently closed. Check back here for future updates.
