The museum wasn't always open to the public, but we're thankful that it is now so we can all admire this gem! The museum was originally known as Villa Vizcaya, and operated as the winter home of James Deering; Deering was an industrial executive in his family's harvesting company and became known internationally as a socialite and collector of ancient ornate antiques in the late 1800s and early 1900s; completely explains why his home is so over-the-moon gorgeous.
To visit this fairy tale wonderland, it's only $22 for adults, $15 for teens 13-17, $10 ages 6-12, or free for children under 6. They offer discounts for students with a valid ID, as well as for seniors or visitors in wheelchairs.
