Living in Florida, we all generally have a love for all things water and have a taste for adventure. This is why we Floridians are always looking for cool places to visit and crazy things to enrich our Sunshine and Salt Life. This crazy experience combines keeping cool in the water and theme park thrillseeking - and it looks seriously exhilarating.
Host David on Airbnb lists an experience that lets you strap into a hoverboard-esque machine that you can control. The machine propels you with water pressure and thrusts you up into the sky, or even down underwater - whatever you want to do. It kind of reminds us of Ironman, with his little thrusters from his suit - except they won't singe any hairs because it's water.
When you book the experience through Airbnb, it costs $150 per person in groups up to 10 people, so if you and all of your friends want to thrill seek together, you totally can. The experience can be booked for any available day, with the time slot being 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, so you have up to 9 hours to fly around the air and through the water all day.
They take photo and video of you for free, so you'll have some of the most unique Instagram shots showcasing your awesome experience. Something as crazy as this could only come from Florida - check out some awesome pictures and video of this thrilling ride:
You meet up for the experience at The Venice of America, George English Park in Fort Lauderdale, which is located at 1101 Bayview Dr, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304. They ask that you leave all of your belongings in the car - anything that you won't want to go in the water. All you need to bring is you, your swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen for a whole day of fun.
Of course, something like this is all new if you're not a water sports fanatic, so there is always a bit of a learning curve - and a few wipeouts. Atlantic Flyboard's website states that most people are able to confidently control everything within 20 minutes, so you'll be Ecco the Dolphin in no time. Some are even doing flips by the end of their first experience. All guests get a life vest and helmet as well and have an instructor nearby if you need help getting the hang of it. The board itself is lightweight and has its own buoyancy for additional safety and makes it easier for you to get back up and going.
How do these things even work!? They talk a little bit about that on their website - They even sell these things if you end up wanting to be able to do this whenever you want; along with other versions like the actual hoverboard model, the jetski model that lets you do barrel rolls or the jetpack that makes you look like a supervillain. You can see the different models on their website here.
