Have you ever wanted to know what life is like under the sea? Grab your mermaid tail and get ready to be a part of that world, because some major Ariel vibes are about to make a splash here in the Sunshine State. Key West's mermaid festival is this summer and the wildest part of it all is that you can actually be one of the many mermaids at the fest.

Throw on some glittery fins and dive right in. The second-ever* Key West Mermaid Fest is hoping to take you back in time to a magical world full of shipwrecks, old-time sailors and sparkly tails.

From Wednesday, July 1 to Sunday, July 5 you can shimmer and shine in the brightest mermaid gear you can get your hands on. If you already have some, that's even better!

This year’s event line-up hasn’t been posted yet, but if the schedule from 2019 is anything to go by, there could be a mermaid parade, pool party, and a beach day with plenty of beer and booze available for purchase.*

Grab your bae, your bestie or your whole crew, and get ready to turn up your tails to a fun week of live music, funky vibes and rolling waves.

The best part about this event is that almost all of the activities are completely free, open to the public, and family-friendly.* Activities that require tickets are mainly night-time parties.

But don’t worry about letting your money trickle away. The festival proceeds will be used to raise awareness about protecting our oceans.

You’ll basically be partying for a cause!

To participate in the festival as an official volunteer mermaid, you’ll have to fill out this form.

The good news is that you won’t have to be a professional in order to attend the fest as a mermaid. Everyday peeps are encouraged to apply, too.

Whether you're looking for a whole week of mermaid fun or just want to see what this event's all about, you should definitely pop by the festival for a totally unique experience.
