Garlic — good for you and tasty in many a dish — maybe you even add extra to some of your dinners (guilty). Fans of the stinkin' delicious herb can indulge in everything garlic at the South Florida Garlic Festival in Lake Wales next February.
2020's festival will take over John Prince Park on Feb. 8 and 9, featuring a huge line up of vendors serving up tons of garlic-y bites, as well as a stank load of entertainment.
You'll have your typical carnival fare, but everything takes a garlic twist — you'll even find plenty of vegan and keto options if you really don't want to break your diet. 2018's Garlic Fest saw savory garlic cooked meats, roasted corn cobs, and even garlic-infused wines.
When we say everything garlic — we mean everything. The festival even showcases sweets made with the herb, like 2018's Toasted Garlic Donut that was featured on the Food Networks Carnival Eats — and yes, garlic ice cream too!
Of course, we're always down for the bites, but we're even more down for some rides! There's nothin' smelly about carnival rides and games, that you can play as hard as you'll eat; maybe you'll even win some prizes to take home.
Previous years have seen some really cool art installments for you to stop and take a unique pic too.
To top it all off, the "best stinkin' party in South Florida" will also have tunes on blast from live bands — while the lineup for 2020 hasn't been announced yet, we can expect a dierse and eclectic group of bands; previous line ups included Bob Marley's son, Stephen Marley, ska-punk band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and American Rock band Collective Soul just to name a few.
You can see a clip of Stephen Marley playing One Love to close out 2018's Garlic Festival below.
Just follow your nose and see where it goes at the "best stinkin' party in South Florida".
An overview of the 2020 Garlic Festival can be seen below — we're marking our calendar and packing some gum; maybe mints too.
