Here's What The Florida Zoo's Lantern Festival Actually Looks Like (PHOTOS)
It's a magical, exotic dream!
The Sunshine State is in full-blown decoration mode for the holidays with amazing light displays already popping up everywhere; which guarantees at least two full months’ worth of light admiring. At a certain point, however, it can be easy to get burnt out seeing the same string lights over and over again. If you’re looking for something new and truly enchanting, then theis a must.
The zoo is the only place you can catch this incredible lantern and light display, capturing the beauty of art and culture in a whimsical, dreamlike glow.
Imagine wandering down the darkened path, lilting music fills the air, a flood of light washing over you from grand lanterns of all shapes and sizes. Giant moons, a white elephant, hundreds of tiny stars transport you to an illuminated wonderland.
We won’t give away too much, but it’s truly a magical experience.
This is the first time the display is set up anywhere in Florida, and you can’t see it anywhere else! The Central Florida Zoo partnered with Tianyu Arts & Culture, a Chinese design company based in Sichuan, China, to bring this wild dream to life.
The zoo has been transformed into a glowing safari of over 30 larger-than-life illuminated sculptures of animals, plants, with sprinkles of traditional Chinese elements.
During your walk-through of the trails of hand-made LED-lit lanterns, you can also enjoy local food and beverage options, live music, and authentic artisan crafts.
The event will be running Wednesday through Sunday evenings from November 20th to January 12th. When you fall in love and want to return again and again, you can even buy a 4-pack ticket deal instead of just the single $18.50 ticket.
Believe us, it’s worth it!
