In an attempt to help slow the spread of coronavirus, many venues, parks, and festivals have been closing their doors. In Florida, Gatorland recently did the same, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the reptilian shenanigans. Every day at 10 a.m., workers will be hosting a Gatorland Facebook Live show called School of Crocs, where you can submit questions via Facebook and learn about some of the animals that call the park home.

The show first debuted Wednesday, March 18, 2020, and consisted of a 20-minute segment hosted by Savannah Boan and Chrissy Thomspon. Gatorland employees showed off two baby alligators, Chomps and Huck, and one baby crocodile, Fuego.

Virtual guests learned about what the gators ate, their anatomy, and even their mamas. To show off the baby’s teeth, Boan even let the tiny gator nibble on her finger, claiming it felt like a bunch of little simultaneous paper cuts. Owch!

School of Crocs will air on Facebook Live every day at 10 a.m., but don’t worry if you miss it; the videos will stay on the park’s Facebook page for later viewing. There’s also a nightly 5 p.m. show you can catch on their Youtube called Gator VLOG.

Gatorland announced earlier this week that they would be closing their doors for an undetermined amount of time.

Despite the closure, Mark McHugh, CEO of Gatorland, wished to continue educating young viewers while they were out of school in Gatorland’s unique style.

According to a quote provided to the Orlando Sentinel, McHugh felt confident that they had more than enough fun activities to keep the content of the show fresh every day. Be sure to tune in tomorrow morning and get your daily dose of croc!

Whether you're an avid reptile fan or are looking for something to educate and entertain the kiddos, School of Croc has you covered.
