The new year has passed, and spring will be upon us before we know it. For Floridians, that can mean some not-so-great things, like pollen and humidity, but it also means a return of the most beautiful wildflowers. And at Southern Hill Farms, you can actually pick your own peaches, berries, and wildflowers for just a $1 a flower!

While temperatures in Central Florida are close to freezing right now, we can still dream about the colorful flora that awaits in March.

At Southern Hill Farms, there are over 120 acres of perennial plants, including 40 acres of blueberries, five acres of peach trees, and 68 acres of ornamental trees.

During the Spring and Fall Festivals, the vibrant sunflowers and zinnias are available. During the months of March, April, and May the farm is open on Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for blueberry picking.

For peach picking, they’re open Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from about mid-April to mid-May.

Exact dates for sunflower and zinnia picking haven’t been announced yet but keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates.

Each season, Southern Hill Farm’s field of sunflowers blossom in a range of colors, heights, and bloom sizes to choose from.

There are actually five different sunflower species that they grow, including the dwarf variety with bright yellow petals and a black center, one that's golden-orange, and another with plum and cream bi-colored petals.

There's even a sunflower that has bronze, yellow, and purple petals, and of course your classic golden-yellow with the big brown center too.

The rainbow-colored zinnias come in a variety of shades as well, including red, orange, coral, lime, bright pink, white, and shades of yellow.

During the Spring Festival, there is no parking or admission fee, but during the Fall Festival in October, there is a $20 admission fee.

During the Spring picking season, the Flowers range from just $1 for each zinnia to $2 per head for sunflowers. Guests even get a complimentary cup with water to help keep your flowers fresh.

Soon enough spring will be sprung and we can go pick some.

Thankfully, our Sunshine State is full of gorgeous wildflowers here as well as at this hidden wildflower field in Orlando
