A favorite fall holiday is upon us, and chances are you are looking for some spooky things to do in Orlando this Halloween season. Thankfully, choices are aplenty. If you consider yourself a lover of performances, Phantasmagoria's Ghost Train is something you won't want to miss.
Hailed as one of the most unique theater troupes in the country, Phantasmagoria brings a spectacular blend of storytelling, dance, puppetry, aerial work, fire performance, live music, and stage combat to audiences everywhere.
All throughout October, they will be bringing their latest show, Royal Palm Ghost Train, to Tavares Union Station.
The storytelling begins after the train embarks for an 80-minute ride of horror and wonder.
The performance will draw from the local inspiration of Florida’s own tales of terror, and also incorporates The Signalman from Charles Dickens and the great works of Edgar Allen Poe.
For those unfamiliar with Dickens, The Signalman is a horror/mystery of an apparition that precedes tragic events on the railway, and Poe, well…think ravens, murders, and hiding dead bodies in very strange places.
The performance culminates in the frightening revelation of “The Legend of the Ghost of the Royal Palm Railway,” which apparently still haunts the very rails on which you will ride.
The dining car where passengers will be seated has restrooms, and the ticket price includes food and drinks.
But beware, for no matter how scared you may become, there is no getting off until the tale is seen to its end. For other spooky performances in Orlando, you should try to catch a horror flick at this drive-in movie theater, or run through The House of 1000 Corpses.
