Most of us geeks & nerds may have gone through a dinosaur phase in our youth; an obsession undoubtedly fueled by Jurassic Park, the badass movie that created a very real and immersive story that we could totally see happening today. Some of us wished we could have the opportunity to stand toe to toe with a T-Rex just to experience their sheer size & might; now we actually can. Jurassic World Live is coming to Tampa's Amalie Arena in 2020.
According to The Herald Tribune, The show was developed by Feld Entertainment and is based on the 2015 film 'Jurassic World'. It takes place between 'Jurassic World' & 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom', bringing both new and familiar characters into the mix, including a female scientist named Kate Walker who tends to an intelligent, bird-like dino known as a Troodon that she named Jeanie; however, evil forces want to use her precious Jeanie as a destructive military program as a weapon.
The Troodon isn't the only dinosaur we'll be seeing in this over-the-top show. The line-up has several animatronic & dino-puppets including a velociraptor and the Indominus Rex. Of course, you'll also be seeing the Tyrannosaurus Rex, appearing in the show as a terrifying animatronic that stands a whopping 42-feet tall. The dinos will roar over the crowd, in your face, & move in a life-like fashion, keeping you on the edge of your seat.
The show will also feature fully-fledged out and immersive environments, fog, pyrotechnics & other special effects to add to the modern jungle-like ambiance.
The show will take over the Amalie arena in January of 2020, running at various showtimes on the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd of the month with both day and night showings are available; tickets are currently on sale and running in the price range of $15 to $325, depending on which seats you pick. Prices may fluctuate, demand depending.
We don't think we've ever wanted a dinosaur to roar in our face so bad! An overview of the Jurassic World Live's details can be seen below.
