Summer is coming, and with all the beautiful weather we get in the Sunshine State, we're blessed to be able to go out and enjoy nature, especially all of the beautiful waterways surrounding us. There's a kayaking experience that takes you on the most magical mangrove tunnel tour in Sarasota - and it's breathtakingly beautiful.
Airbnb host Orlando is an experienced kayaker that has a passion for all things natural. He has been paddling the waters of Sarasota and Lido Key almost every single day for years and has amassed great knowledge of the area and Florida's vital ecosystems. Orlando wants to share his love of nature with others and is offering his knowledge for an amazing kayaking experience.
A smiling face will greet you as soon as you arrive at the launch site, and you will be provided with ice cold drinking water for your trek. You'll also have a waterproof bag to protect your cellphone, keys, and wallet. After going over safety precautions, you'll get a detailed paddle lesson. Once ready, you will embark on a two-hour kayak adventure exploring beautiful Sarasota Bay and the world famous Lido Key mangrove tunnels.
Orlando will share his knowledge about the beautiful bay as you paddle about, as well as talk about the incredible flora and fauna you'll encounter. Dolphins and manatees are known to frequent the area, so you may even get a chance to see one of these gentle babies up close! You'll then journey through a winding cave of branches at Lido Key's spectacular mangrove tunnels all while learning a bit about the importance of coastal ecosystems.
You'll be left with memories that will last a lifetime from your scenic excursion and can take as many pictures of your experience as you'd like so you can remember your paddle adventure through the mangroves forever.
The Kayak Sarasota Bay and Lido Key Mangroves experience is $50 per person for a 2-hour paddle adventure, with the option for a single or tandem kayak, which is confirmed by email after booking your experience. If you don't select your kayak preference, they default your kayak to be all tandems if your group is even-numbered, or all tandems and a single if it's odd numbered.
Orlando and his tour guides provide you with water, all kayaking equipment needed, as well as a safety whistle and protective dry bags. All you need to bring to this experience of a lifetime is your spirit of adventure, clothes that can get splashed by salt water, and maybe some sunglasses and sunscreen if you burn easily like I do!
