You Can Watch Volcanoes Erupt In 3D On A 4-Story Screen In Atlanta Starting This Month
It's a realistic Pompeiian adventure.
Though volcanoes can be both detrimental and beneficial to earth, the sight of the insanely bright lava oozing from an eruption is absolutely fascinating. Many people, especially Georgians, don't have the opportunity to witness nature's insane creation because volcanoes are rare and eruptions can be few and far between; not to mention the danger of getting too close! Fortunately, The Fernbank Museum in Atlanta will begin showing a 3D Volcano movie in September and it will make you feel like you're actually there.
The Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Druid Hills is known for its massive dinosaur fossil structures and tons of other cool exhibits and events. The Giant Screen 3D Theatre at Fernbank has a massive four-story movie screen that creates a fully immersive experience that will have you wondering if you're actually in a theatre.
Beginning on Sept. 13, you can experience Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation 3D at Fernbank's 3D theatre and it's going to be insane. During this daring journey, you will venture around the world to Hawaii, Ethiopia, Vanatu and Pompeii to explore the fascinating world of lava lakes, acid ponds and geysers for only $13 per ticket. And this is as real as it gets: you'll descend into hot lava with extreme adventurer, Carsten Peter.
Catch it while it's hot because it will only run through January 2020 (tickets will be available closer to premier date).
This adventure of a lifetime will make you feel like you're truly up-close and personal with hot lava and erupting volcanoes. There are lots of other 3D and IMAX experiences you have to check out including Great Bear Rainforest 3D or Apollo 11: First Steps Edition 2D. There are more amazing intercontinental 3D experiences on their way in 2020.
If you want to make a day out of this with your S/O or your besties, you can book a value pass to gain entry into the museum and take a self-guided tour through the jaw-dropping exhibits, including the new interactive Fantastic Forces exhibit that lets you explore and manipulate earthly forces like gravity and earthquakes.
