Located at 14th Street NW in Midtown lies the holy grail of all Whole Foods. Atlanta's new Whole Foods, which is the largest in Southeast, opened in April and it’s beyond your wildest dreams. The building is 70,000 square feet, offering way more than just your typical Whole Foods organic groceries and food bar. What screams ‘millennial fun’ more than a build-your-own-avocado toast bar and rooftop patio?! You can’t miss it (and you can’t miss out).
Avocado toast is what’s rumored to make us millennials go broke, but when we can add the contents of an entire salad bar to it, we shouldn’t feel so bad, right? The bar lets you customize your choice of toast (or lettuce wraps for an even healthier option) with whatever your heart desires. This feature is part of Whole Foods' massive salad bar, so it is self-serve with tons of healthy and yummy toppings - load up! :) Your custom boxes/trays at the salad bar a priced at $8.99/lb.
Now, let’s get talking about that rooftop. The phenomenal food options do not end at the avocado toast bar. There’s a food truck on the rooftop that serves things like pulled pork, grilled cheese and chicken sandwiches! The food truck is one-of-a-kind and is unique to Whole Foods' rooftop, which they have named "Canopy Court." Of course, there are vegan options as well. And what’s a rooftop without some good drinks? 14th Street Bar also sits on the rooftop, serving wine and beer on tap! Bring all your friends to partake in Giant Jenga, Connect 4 and cornhole, too. And here's a plus - unlike Ponce, it is FREE to enter the rooftop and utilize the games!
Okay, so we covered food, drinks, and games. But that’s not all! The rooftop offers workout classes! From cycling to yoga to Zumba, you now have no excuse to skip the gym ;) Most of the workout classes are FREE of charge and you sign up through Eventbrite. See upcoming classes and sign up on the events calendar. All sessions are held on Saturdays from 9 am - 10 am.
You can enjoy all of this rooftop bliss while catching some awesome views of the city - essential to a good rooftop spot!
Some things to consider downstairs - more food! There are on-site restaurants including Farm Burger and Capital Commons - in case you aren’t feeling the food truck. Also, for the sake of convenience and a pretty sick wow factor, Whole Foods has a veggie butcher. Yes, you read that right. You can now spiralize, julienne, etc. your veggies on site! Could it get any better? Don’t worry, we want to live here too.
