If you've ever spent the summer at camp, you know the staples that made your life in the woods go 'round - bonfires with smores, playing in the water, ghost stories, and eating dozens of hot dogs like clockwork. If you miss those days, then we have some exciting news: The Rooftop at Ponce City Market turned their rooftop into an adults-only summer camp.
The Rooftop is proving that the awkward, camp-loving child in us never truly dies by bringing back the best parts of camp to their famous rooftop. The already picturesque landscape is being transformed into the summer camp of your dreams. But this time, it's 21 and up only!
It's no overnight experience, but you can lounge around in tents every Friday and Saturday night from June until August 11 for only $15. That $15 will include entry and access to all the entertainment and games, which is the cheapest you've paid to get in a summer camp ever.
You won't be completely on your own. Camp counselors are on site, not to monitor you, but to instruct you on how to play some of their inventive camp activities. They've got some secrets up their sleeves, but we hear that they'll be heading everything from hot dog eating contests to water balloon fights.
The restaurant on site, 9 Mile Station, will be crafting some additions to fit the event theme. Skyline Park will be the place to hit to devour hot dogs galore and camp-inspired cocktails. Thes hot dogs at Camp Rooftop might be on par with the hot dogs at Willie's Wee-Nee Wagon, but we'll leave that for you to decide.
If you've got kids in tow, kids camp activities with take place on three special dates: June 16, July 14, and August 11. They'll get the chance to indulge in arts and crafts and a three-story slide. Their time to relive an experience similar to yours takes place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on those dates.
The party starts at 5 p.m. every weekend, so grab your drinking buddies for a one-of-a-kind experience with the best views of the city. The rooftop closes at 11 p.m., so if you're not done partying, head over to Tiki Tango nearby to keep the fun going.
Address: 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
Time: Friday and Saturday after 5 p.m.
Why you need to go: The rooftop on Ponce was already amazing as is, but this addition makes for a nostalgic night out. The inner child in you never goes away completely, so this is the place to walk down memory lane while creating new memories.
