While there are plenty of markets around the city that are worthy of attending, the Atlanta Indie Market (AIM) has a wow-factor that's completely unique. AIM is more than just a market, it's an experience that every resident of the city should come out for. The best of the best independent, small businesses in Georgia are all at this monthly Atlanta market and community kickback.
Every fourth Saturday of the month, 100+ local vendors gather on the west side of the BeltLine to showcase what being a successful, creative entrepreneur looks like.
These independent brands sell clothing (streetwear, vintage, and new threads), accessories, home goods, art, and more. Every brand brings something completely one-of-a-kind to the table. You won't be able to find items like these in just any department store.
The brands are just one component of the market. Atlanta is known for throwing down in the kitchen, which is why there's plenty of food from local vendors available to buy for rumbling tummies.
Expect food trucks galore, along with options ranging for those with a sweet tooth and those who eat strictly organic. Wherever you fall on that spectrum, there is something for you. To top it all off, there's a full bar on site as well.
It wouldn't be an Atlanta event without music, but know that there won't be any top 100 songs spun by a DJ played here. AIM offers emerging artists a chance to get their sound out. Although their careers are just rising, these artists are the top underground artists from all genres that the city has to offer.
After you're done admiring the gallery of work from the most eccentric talent, you can actually unleash your inner creative side in the "Create Space" area. All the art supplies you could need are provided. Ever wanted to tag a graffiti wall? You'll have the chance to add your touch to a giant community mural. You can also express your inner Picasso through chalk art, paint, and more.
This upcoming market on July 27 starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. AIM is teaming up with Met ATL, Culturebase, and the Atlanta Falcons for the first ever Dayfest. With a collaboration like that, the giveaways and environment will be unbeatable.
Admission is free to the public, but bring your wallets so you can support the local brands that make the city so special. Narcity reached out for comments from the organizers and we'll update with more information.
You can catch the market monthly and at their special guest appearance at the BeReggae festival in August.
