Being a Harry Potter fan is a lifetime commitment, so Potterheads have to find outlets to channel their longtime love of the series. Georgia Potterheads have it made because one Georgia art museum is hosting the biggest Harry Potter party of the year. Time to dust off your robes and glasses, because the biggest HP party means you have to dress up.
The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art is bringing Harry Potter to life with their "Magic at the Museum" event, this Saturday, June 22. This celebration is exclusive to Potterheads that are 18+.
Most attendees receive a letter in the mail with their official Hogwarts letter, but no worries to all the procrastinators out there. You have until 1 p.m. Friday, June 21 to pre-register. Even then, all hope is not lost because you can register on-site on Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m.
You'll begin the night at Platform 9 3/4, where you'll receive Marauders Map that outlines where everything in the "castle" is. There are themed rooms with the most iconic Hogwarts locations, like the Great Hall, Herbology and Potions classrooms, Common Rooms from each house, and more.
While you're parading around each room, you'll have the chance to mix up some potions, participate in a scavenger hunt, showcase your trivia knowledge, and feast on tasty treats with a Butterbeer in hand.
Taking a commemorative picture in the frame and photo areas are pretty much mandatory that night. You'll also want to make sure that your phone is charged up because the intricate details and decorations will have you snapping away.
Besides the memories, you'll walk away with a commemorative pint glass. For $40, you'll have the night of your dreams.
This event will likely sell out, so you'll be around 300 other fellow Potterheads. Only Voldemort himself should be able to keep you away - and even then, you'll have to channel your inner Harry.
If you're still on a Harry Potter high, you can book a stay at this Atlanta Hogwarts themed Airbnb.
