Now that the holiday season is over, many of us are thinking about warmer weather and being able to explore the outdoors without a hundred layers on. We are #blessed to be able to have the mountains in our own backyard which means we have many trails to hike and many views to see. These are the best hiking spots near charlotte that are perfect for spring and need to be on your hiking bucket list.  

Morrow Mountain State Park

Why You Need To Go: There are more than 15 miles of trails here and they all vary in length. You can walk around the gorgeous lake and even get in on a hot day. 

Crowder’s Mountain State Park

Why You Need To Go: The King Pinnacle hike will really get your blood pumping and get you sweating, but you'll pass gorgeous wildflowers and end up on the top of the mountain to see incredible views

Buffalo Creek Preserve

Why You Need To Go: You'll hike through an oak savanna into a small forest with a river that flows next to you during your trek which makes for a very tranquil adventure. 

Chimney Rock Park

Why You Need To Go: You'll have the choice of taking a long hike to the top of this 535-million-year-old rock, or you can take a shorter route and still see the most incredible views. 

Table Rock Mountain

Why You Need To Go: If you are looking for a hike that will challenge you and make you sweat, this is the one. You'll start gaining elevation quickly, but once you get to the top, you'll never want to leave the views. 

Bald Eagle Trail

Why You Need To Go: This is a hike that is great to cool you off during a hot day. The entire hike is through a wooded forest with many streams you have to cross and it is only a 3-mile loop. 

 Gold Hill Rail Trail

Why You Need To Go: You'll feel like you're stepping back in time when you start on this trail. You'll hike past sights including the Powder House, Gold Hill Pond, Gold Hill Jail and Primitive Chilean Ore Mill.
