This Haunted Hotel In Western Pennsylvania Is Nightmare Inducing
Sleep tight - and don't pay attention to what goes "bump" in the night!
With October fast approaching, you are most definitely dotting your i's and crossing your t's on that spooky bucket list. But if you are missing the Hotel Conneaut then you should probably make a little extra room; every pun intended.
If you're in search of a little haunting, this hotel has the ghosts for you. As part of Conneaut Lake Park - you know, that little itty-bitty theme park that your grandparents probably went to once or twice as a kid - the Hotel Conneaut has been around for a pretty darn long time.
Part of the original hotel was built in the late 1800s, most of which has since been renovated and turned into what stands today; and of course, some of that old residual energy stayed with it.
Not only is the hotel still eerily decorated like it's stuck in an era long past; it is said to be haunted by many spirits. One of the most infamous is Elizabeth - a bride who supposedly died in a fire on her wedding night. While there is no actual death record to prove this, many people have stated they've seen her ghost.
A quick Google search will reveal many recounts of hauntings witnessed; one TripAdvisor user wrote a review titled Haunted Like Crazy! And if that doesn't say it all, well, then we will let the walls do the talking.
Or you could pick up a copy of an entire book about ghosts at Conneaut Lake Park.
The hotel embraces its spooky history and haunting decor; even going as far to name their inhouse bar the 'Spirit Lounge.'
The inn has been featured on TV shows, Paranormal State on A&E, and Bio Channel's, My Ghost Story. Additionally, the ghost hunting group, Ghosts N'at often host public ghost investigations here.
If you're interested in booking a stay in October (during their after summer's off-season) it would be best to keep in mind that they only offer night stays on the weekends. But the added bonus of going in the offseason is when the park closes down, it adds a bit of eerie "dark carnival" ambiance to your stay. Entrance to the park area is free.
Sweet dreams and happy hauntings!
