The 680-Foot Suspension Bridge In Tennessee Is Now Covered With Glowing Christmas Magic
The longest suspension bridge in North America!
'Tis the season to be merry, and you can't very well reach the highest of holiday cheer without magical twinkling lights. We do mean the "highest" holiday cheer because now you can surround yourself with illuminated Christmas cheer from 140 feet above the ground. Skylift Park's Lights Over Gatlinburg is now in full swing, lighting up North America's longest suspension bridge.
Skylift Park in Gatlinburg is home to thetowering over the lively city. The bridge is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in all of North America and it transforms into a dazzling winter wonderland over the holiday season.
The bridge is covered in countless arches embellished with bright, colorful lights to fill your nightly stroll with holiday excitement. Not only will you be surrounded by a magical tunnel from above, you'll catch some awe-inspiring Christmas decorations taking over the town from below.
The bridge even has a section with a glass bottom so you won't miss a beat from right beneath your feet. There's truly nothing like these 360-degree and bird's eye views of the town's Christmas spirit that illuminates in a mystical light.
The bridge is definitely for lovers of heights but if walking 680 feet across the sky 140 feet above the ground doesn't strike your fancy, you can still observe the bridge and town lit up in all its glory from the Skydeck.
You'll just have to endure the moderately steep (but super peaceful) gondola ride to the top. Totally worth it, given that there's a fire pit to provide you with all the warm and fuzzy feels.
The lighting kicked off on Thanksgiving and will grace the city through Jan. 25 so don't miss out on this magical journey across the bridge with your loved ones.
Bring some hot cocoa along to really spruce up the holiday cheer. The $20 one-day ticket gives you access to the Skypark, Skydeck and Skybridge.
