Austin is a city known for its weirdness, and lucky for us, we never seem to be let down with whatever kind of new, weird thing the city has in store for us. This month, and well into next, you can visit a literal giant letter in Austin that's purpose is, well, questionable. If you're looking for an interesting new photo op to spice up your Instagram feed, this is it, ladies and gentlemen.
The Giant Letter's grand opening is taking place today, Wednesday, December 18 at nightfall.
The location of the letter is listed as 1300 Block of Broadmoor Drive in Windsor Park on the opening's official Facebook event page.
Why, you ask, is a giant letter being placed at a seemingly random place in Austin?
We'll tell you.
According to KXAN, this giant letter measures 12 feet tall and is actually written for Santa Claus!
Remember all those times your parents made you write letters to Santa Claus? Well, it's time to let the nostalgia hit you.
If you do plan on attending the opening tonight, it's important to know that the first 80 guests will receive complimentary mini pumpkin pies, hot chocolate, and tea.
The giant letter, as well as other fun parts of the installation, will be in Austin until Saturday, January 11.
So you definitely have time to stop by if you can't tonight!
Texans love their pop-ups, and for Austinites, the weirder the better!
While this specific pop-up has a deeper meaning than most, it's certainly still bizarre.
Who knows, maybe coming out and seeing it will inspire you to write your own letter to Santa!
