Going out on the Colorado River is one of Austin's truest treasures. There's nothing more peaceful or fun than rowing in a kayak, sailing along in a canoe or navigating on a stand-up paddleboard. Texas Rowing Center is taking it a step further by putting on another Latino Moonlight Serenade! That's right, you'll be serenaded by the most incredible musicians right on the water.
If you've ever been out on this iconic river before, you know the views are absolutely incredible. Whether you're looking up from your kayak or all around you on your paddle board, you're surrounded by breathtaking nature each and every way. Being on the water at night while being serenaded by an incredible jazz band, that's just unbeatable.
Atlas Major is an amazing jazz band that'll be on the water with you on Friday, August 16th from 7 to 9 PM. Their job will be to serenade and yours will be to stay afloat! The event is only $15 for a kayak or canoe and $12 for a stand-up paddleboard. They even offer double kayaks for an especially romantic evening. Check-in will begin at 6:15 and attendees will take off promptly at 7 PM.
If you haven't bought tickets ahead of time, walk-ups are more than welcome! As long as they have an open kayak/canoe/SUP for you to use, you'll be good to go. If for some reason the weather doesn't permit the event from taking place, you'll automatically be signed up for the following month's Latino Moonlight Serenade. Remember to bring food and drinks for yourself as it's more than welcome. And get ready for the night of your life!
