Visiting an art museum is a must this and every summer ahead. With exhibits both in and outside, they make the perfect location for picture taking and admiration. Some exhibits are particularly beautiful and Insta-worthy and should be at the very top of your list. Ellsworth Kelly's Austin is one of them and it's easy to see why.
The Blanton Museum of Art became home to Ellsworth Kelly's Austin back in 2015 when Kelly gifted them the only building he had ever designed. They were honored, to say the least, and the building has proven to be an extremely popular place to visit for both Austin residents as well as visitors.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday - Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. They're closed on Mondays, so don't plan on going then unless you want to turn around and do something else exciting in Austin!
Admission for adults is only $12 and $5 for college students. You may be one of the people that qualifies to get in for free, so check their website before you head over to know for sure.
Before visiting any art museum, we highly recommend finding out what their rules are during visitation. Blanton Museum of Art has just a few such as no flash photography, no food or beverage, etc. Once you're all caught up on the dos and don'ts, grab your friends and your camera and head over to one of the most beautiful exhibits ever!
