December is officially here, which means all of the highly anticipated holiday festivals in Texas are closer than ever before. For San Marcos, the town's biggest Christmas festival opens this week, and it's going to be bigger and better than any year before.

If you already have big plans this week, cancel them, because we have something much bigger in store for you.

Starting on Wednesday, December 4, the 2019 Sights and Sounds of Christmas are hitting the streets of San Marcos once again.

The town is just a short drive from both San Antonio and Austin, which makes it easy for residents of either to come down and visit.

If you can't make it on Wednesday, the fest will be in town through that Saturday, December 7, and then again from Wednesday, December 11 to Saturday, December 14.

Each day the fest is open, you'll be able to enjoy the Sights and Sounds of Christmas from 5 to 11 p.m.

You'll be able to take awesome pictures with thousands of Christmas lights, play with the cutest animals at their petting zoo, and fly high in the sky on their carnival rides.

This, plus access to yummy eats and drinks is free for children 12 and under, and $5 for ages 13 and up.

You can also purchase an eight-day pass for just $15 if you anticipate coming out to San Mo quite a bit. After going more than three times, the pass pays for itself! It's totally worth it if you ask us.

We hope that you can make it out to Sights and Sounds while it's in town, as you'll have to wait a whole year to get the chance to experience it again!

The holidays are a busy time, but you won't regret adding this fest to your to-do list.

For those of you who can't get enough of holiday festivals, be sure to check out the many that are slowly but surely starting to open up in numerous Texas cities!
