"Keep Austin Weird" is the city's unofficial slogan for a reason. Whether it's official or not, there's no doubt in our minds that the best way to describe Austin is weird. The city is proving that once again by filling entire blocks with people dressed as Santa Clause for Austin's SantaCon This December.

On Saturday, December 14 starting at 4 p.m. and lasting until 2 a.m. the following day, you can join thousands of other festive Austinites for a day filled with holiday cheer. The city of Austin is going to be transformed into a platform where people can eat, drink and be merry all while dressed as Santa Clause. Attire won't be provided for the event, so we highly recommend grabbing a hat and something red before you go!

Toys, games, stickers, buttons, signs, and blinky lights are also encouraged to be brought so that everyone can participate. It is a participatory event, after all.

Not only is it fun to attend, but it's also for a great cause. Donations will go to a charity of the hosts' choice, which, along with the official schedule and registration info, will all be released soon.

The event is 21+ as there will be drinking, and their official Facebook event page has all of the essentials for the day. We can't wait to get into the holiday spirit in the most outlandish way possible, and we know you can't either! Don't forget to spread the word that this is happening, even if your friends don't want to come, we're sure they'll want to know why their streets are flooded with Santas!
