We can all agree that simply seeing a dog is enough to brighten your entire day. There's something about their levels of both friendliness and cuteness that makes them better than most humans. Austin is known for being dog-friendly pretty much everywhere you go, and to top it off they even have a massive dog park where you and your furry friend can spend your entire day. Mark your calendars for the month of September, because Zilker Park is hosting a crazy dog park party that's completely free to attend!
From 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, September 21st, you and your favorite companion can visit Zilker Park (aka Zilker Bark) in a brand new way. This BYOD Austin Bark in Zilker Park Pawty is a chance for your dog to meet tons of other furry friends and who knows, maybe you'll meet a few cool dog lovers yourself! Zilker Park is huge and can host hundreds of people at a time, so expect for your dog to have tons of play time.
Even if you don't have a dog to bring, you're still more than welcome to come to the event. If you are planning to bring your pet, make sure they meet a few simple criteria before attending. The hosts' want to make sure your pet is social, well behaved, and up-to-date on all vaccinations if they're planning on coming. Everyone wants to have a good time and this just guarantees it!
An easy way to tell you've arrived at the right spot of Zilker Park is when you see the BYOD balloons! During the event, there'll be a photographer (or phoDOGrapher) to capture all of those amazingly cute moments throughout the day. There's no better picture than one with your dog and the Austin skyline in the background. We could scroll through those tags on Instagram all day long.
Reservations aren't required to attend, but if you're a BYOD member reserving your spot is easy! And if not, joining BYOD is a simple process. Just visit the event's Facebook page for all the info. A park filled with dogs truly is heaven, and September could not come soon enough!
