Calling All Dragon Ball Z Fans, A 3-Day Fan Festival Is Coming To Dallas This Month
It's cosplay time.
If you love all things anime, you're in luck because Texas will soon become an otaku heaven. A massive anime convention is coming to Dallas this March, and it will be an opportunity to show your love for Japanese pop culture. That being said, there will be no need for you to book a trip to Japan any time soon.
Anime North Texas (ANT) is coming back to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and will be filled with Japanese pop culture and everything anime to make all our geeky dreams come true.
In 2020, the huge convention will take place at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel from January 31 to February 2. The festival previously announced it would be on November 15 to 17, but dates were moved.
You can grab a three-day pass if you register right now for just $50 and enjoy an art show, a gaming room, super cool giveaways, a cosplay contest (of course), Japanese fashion, all kinds of vendors, a cute Maid Cafe with the most kawaii treats, special events and more.
Time to gather your geek squad and take your cosplay costume out for some fun, or even put together a new one. Why not? The occasion certainly deserves it.
ANT will be gathering die-hard fans of anime, manga, and all things Japan from all over North Texas.
You can expect the appearance of well-known personalities of the anime world, such as voice-over artists Kari Wahlgren, Bryce Papenbrook, Meredith McCoy, and Wendy Powell.
The cosplay contest will surely be the main attraction. Japanese inspired costumes are highly encouraged, but you don't have to limit yourself.
Cosplay judges will be looking at everyone at the event, from walk-ons to registered stage performers. There will be prizes, so make sure to check all the details here.
If you love anime and manga stuff, there will be no better place than this event to take home some goodies and merch. They will also be having a cool art show, so make sure to attend and maybe take home an art piece from your fav character, movie, or series.
You can also have your artwork in the exhibition and for sale at the event. Isn't that awesome?
And if hunger attacks, beat it the most otaku way possible: Go to the Amai Maid Cafe! They will be offering the cutest kawaii-style food and beverages served by cute maid-dressed, anime-inspired waitresses that will be more than happy to entertain you.
The cafe will have a variety of events ticketed with prices ranging from $12 to $27, some of them being adult-only. Check all the information here before you attend.
If you are more into gaming, the game room will be the place to be. This year's console list hasn't been announced yet, but you can check here for updates. They will also be having card game tournaments.
