Trails are kept to about two miles long each, making them quite short and easy to manage for beginners. Dog are welcome to come along with you to explore as long as they stay on a leash the entire time. The preserve is most frequented by mountain bikers due to their 15 miles of trails that are perfect to get a little dirty. The trails are maintained by the Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association so you know they are very well maintained.
You don’t have to be all about hiking and biking when visiting this preserve because they also have several picnic tables for visitors to just go and relax. Visitors can also hang out by the water and go fishing for a while as well. There is a grill that is up for grabs on a first come first serve basis that you are totally welcome to use for a nice BBQ.
With all these trails and loops, the preserve has something for everyone who is looking to get some sun before summer is over.
The park is open from 6 a.m. to midnight every day of the week and is free to enter all year around. There is plenty of parking for everyone so you'll never feel crowded.
