Having the best summer ever can get kind of expensive after wanting to go out and explore every week. Luckily, the DFW metroplex is a big place and we have tons of stuff to do almost every weekend from festivals to giant margarita parties. To help you have the most amazing summer, here are some great free events for when you want to have a little fun on a budget.

Why you need to go: This massive event is so much fun and brings people a giant free Comic-Con to enjoy. Visitors are more than welcome to cosplay and enjoy free workshops and panels that highlight the Latino presence in the media!

Why you need to go: The watermelon festival will feature so many amazing watermelon treats including massive drinks and watermelon art.
Rooftop Movie: Back To The Future
When: August 7th

Why you need to go: Rooftop bars are amazing and they only get better when you can watch classic movies for free. The Granada will play Back to the future for free. The movie starts at 8 p.m. but you can arrive early for drinks and snacks.
Til Midnight At The Nasher

Why you need to go: The Nasher offers visitors free admission to their museum, a concert, and a movie all while hanging out and having some amazing treats.
Sabor Latino Food Truck Fest

Why you need to go: This awesome free food truck festival will let you experience Latin food and you will also have the chance to participate in a Tamale Throwdown and a Jalapeño eating contest.

Why you need to go: You can hang out and watch the balloons take the air and light up the night sky. There will also be food and entertainment for all to enjoy.
