In theory, axe throwing inside a bar sounds like a pretty bad idea. But it's just the next step up from darts, if you really think about it. And BATL, a backyard axe throwing bar, has been making a successful living off it for quite some time, and people are loving it. BATL recently expanded to the Houston Heights, and they're still celebrating.
Because their grand opening earlier this year was such a hit (pun intended), the want to do it all over again! On Tuesday, June 18th, BATL Houston Heights is offering free axe throwing to all visitors at their exciting ribbon cutting ceremony. And if they don't cut the ribbon with an axe, I'm going to be really upset.
From 4-7 pm, the nation's beloved backyard axe throwing league will be offering their services for free. So what kind of deal is that really?
BATL sells several different packages—everyone has different axe throwing needs, okay? Public walk-ins start at $22.22 an hour. Parties, private lanes, and 30-day sessions can price up to $119.47 per person.
But if this free session gets you hooked like they already know it will, every Tuesday you can get discounted private axe throwing event sessions for just $35.99. Perfect for challenging your friends and maintaining your superiority a healthy level of competition among the group.
At the ribbon cutting event, there will be prizes, yummy food, and local drinks from their newly-licensed bar.
For food options, they have pizza, sandwhiches, burgers, and tons of drinks, of course. The food is even delivered to your lane when you order it. All food and drinks are prepared in partnership with Mellow Mushroom and King's BierHaus, if that gives you an exciting little taste.
BATL is open regularly every day of the week, but you must be 14 years or older to participate in the axe-throwing fun here.
Just last year, the company tallied 10.8 million axes thrown across their locations. They even participate in a National Axe Throwing Competition with an abbreivation (NATC) and everything! So get swinging.
