77 Degrees is a popular bar in Austin and has now expanded to Houston. They plan to open to the public on Thursday, March 7 at their new location on 2416 Brazos St Suite 200, according to Eater.
The bar is known for being a rooftop location with perfect views of the city. They are also famous for having huge Caribbean cocktails. Price range for these drinks is anywhere from $9 to $11. They all have Caribbean themed names like Jamaican Sun or El Niño. Most of their drink contains Bacardi infused with either mango or pineapple. While their drinks are based on the flavors of the Caribean the size is an homage to the phrase "everything is bigger in Texas." Their drinks are known to be "colossal" in size and are mentioned as such all over social media.
Apart from drinks, the bar will also be specialty food like Cubano Sliders and Pineapple Poppers. Food can range anywhere from $7 to $14 at this new bar.
The bar will open on Thursday and will remain open from Monday to Sunday every week. The bar has a happy hour every weekday that starts at opening, 3 p.m., and ends at 7 p.m. On a normal day visitors can hang out until 2 a.m. when the bar closes.
The new bar is decked out in shades of red and purple. The top floor of the bar overlooks midtown which makes it a perfect Instagram spot.
The name 77 Degrees comes from the perfect cocktail temperature. The Houston bar will be several stories high much like its Austin predecessor.
According to their website, 77 Degrees plans to open a bar in Dallas sometime in the future. Until then you can hit up the Houston location any day from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.
