Texas is known for its super awesome theme parks all across the state, most of which have some water aspect to them to accomodate the high temperatures during the summer. Cooling off by sliding down a water ride or two is always the best, but Houston has thought of something better. Grand Texas is a brand new theme park opening in Houston in May, and half of it is entirely on water.
Grand Texas has been in the works since November 2017, but has been suffering from constant construction delays ever since. Now, Big Rivers Waterpark and Gator Bayou Adventure Park make up 80 acres worth of insane fun that finally opens on Saturday, May 25th. Gator Bayou Adventure Park includes tons of rides, a zipline, and a crazy rock climbing wall. But the best part for Houstonians is definitely Big Rivers Waterpark.
Big Rivers Waterpark is home to the largest inflatable obstacle course in Texas! This course is called the Wild Isle, and is fun for absolutely all ages. You're required to wear a lifevest before getting on, but don't worry, it'll be provided for you. This, paired with Houston's biggest lazy river, is what makes Big Rivers Waterpark the ultimate summer destination.
Even now that the theme park is complete, there are still things in the works all around it. Hotels, an amphitheatre, and a shopping and dining district are just some of the things that are coming soon and near to Grand Texas. This really will be the spot you'll want to bring all of your friends and family this summer. Grand Texas will be open from 10 am to 6 or 7 pm depending on the day starting on May 25th until the end of their summer season. Day Passes and Season Tickets are on sale now!
